Adding a Data Plane

Add a new Data Plane to create a custom environment for data processing and storage.

Before you begin

You must have the Infrastructure Administrator (TMC_CLUSTER_MANAGEMENT) role in Talend Management Console.


  1. Go to the Processing page.
  2. Open the Data Planes tab.
  3. Click Add Data Plane.
  4. Enter a name and a description.
    The name must contain only alphanumeric, -, . and _ characters. Spaces and other special characters are not allowed.
  5. Select the deployment type for your Data Plane.
    • Turn on the toggle to install the Data Plane as a demo for test purposes.
    • Turn off the toggle to install the Data Plane on a registered Kubernetes cluster.

  6. Click Add.
  7. Copy the command to install your Data Plane.
    Information noteWarning: This installation command will not be shown again. Keep a copy.
  8. Close the dialog box only after copying the command.


The status of your Data Plane is set to Creating.
