Connecting an environment to a Data Plane

Connect one or more environments to a connected Data Plane. The next task runs from the environments will occur in the Data Plane.

Connecting an environment to a Data Plane overrides the existing settings of engine and run profile for this environment.

Before you begin

  • You must have the Infrastructure Administrator (TMC_CLUSTER_MANAGEMENT) role in Talend Management Console.
  • The Data Plane must be deployed in a Kubernetes cluster (Connected status) to connect environments.

  1. Go to the Processing page.
  2. Open the Data Planes tab.
  3. Click a Data Plane name in the list to open the details panel.
  4. Click the Details button then open the Environments tab.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Select one or more environments from the list.
You can use the search box to find an environment.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Review your selection.
  9. Click Connect to start the connection.
  10. Close the dialog box.
When the connection is in progress, the environment has the Connecting status. The connection can take up to five minutes.
You can refresh the page to see the updated status of the environment.

If the environment is successfully connected, its status changes to Connected.

The Error status can occur when a part of the resources are not created for this environment in the Data Plane. Once resolved, you can disconnect and try to reconnect the environment.

What to do next

Once the environment is connected, the Data Plane is ready to start processing scheduled tasks.
