From the [User Manager] page, you can create a new user and assign him/her one of the roles defined in Talend Studio.
Prerequisite(s): The MDM server is already launched. You must be logged in as an administrator or a user who has Read & Write access to the Manage Users menu.
Make sure that you have selected:
-the data container that holds the master data you want to give access to,
-the data model against which the master data will be validated.
For further information, see Accessing data containers and data models.
To add a new user and assign him/her a role, do the following:
On the Menu panel, click Manage Users.
The [User Manager] page opens.
Click Add a new User on the menu bar of the upper section of the page.
In the New user view, enter the identifier, password, first name and last name for the new user in the appropriate fields.
In the Email field, enter the email information for the user.
From the Language list, select a language as the default display language of Talend MDM Web User Interface for the new user.
Select the Active check box if you want to set the user status as active, or clear it to block access to data for this user for the time being.
In the Roles section, click the arrow to open a list of all predefined system roles and roles created in Talend Studio.
Select the system role you want to attribute to this new user and then click the Add this role button.
The record cannot be saved without assigning any system role to the user. If multiple system roles are assigned to the user, the system role with the highest privilege will be taken into account.
If required, select any of the roles that are defined in Talend Studio to attribute to this new user, and then click the Add this role button.
The selected role is listed in the Roles section.
For the access control defined inside the data model XML schema source, the most restrictive permission will always be taken into account. For example, if a user has two roles
Bthat are defined in Talend Studio, and role
Ahas access to an object while role
Bdoes not, then the user will not have access to the object.
If needed, click the Properties tab and configure dynamic properties for the user. For more information, see How to configure dynamic properties for a user.
Click the Save button.
A pop-up confirms that your user record has been successfully saved.
Click OK to close the pop-up.
The new user record is listed in the upper section of the [User Manager] page.
On the [User Manager] page, you can customize as many properties as needed for a user. These dynamic properties provide additional information about the user that are not covered by the default properties.
To configure dynamic properties for a user, do the following:
Double-click the user for which you want to configure dynamic properties.
Click the Properties tab to open the Properties view.
Click the button to add as many properties as needed for the user.
You can also click button to remove a property.
After the configuration is done, click the Save button to save your changes.
