Compared with Talend Metadata Manager 6.5, Talend Data Catalog 7.1 uses the 10.x or newer version of PostgresSQL.

Before you begin

You have downloaded PostgreSQL version 10.x or newer from https://www.postgresql.org/download/linux/.

Procedure

  1. Stop Talend Metadata Manager Application server.
  2. Back up your PostgreSQL database using the following command:
    <postgre_path>\bin> pg_dump -U <postgre_username> -W -F d <postgre_database> > <backup_location>
  3. Stop your PostgreSQL instance.
  4. Install the new version of PostgreSQL and start it.
  5. Restore PostgreSQL using the following command:
    <postgre_path>\bin> pg_restore -U <postgre_username> -W -F d <postgre_database> > <backup_location>
  6. Start Talend Metadata Manager Application Server and the PostgreSQL server.
  7. Make sure your Talend Metadata Manager 6.5 is running fine.
