About this task

When working on a local branch of a Git managed project, once a remote branch associated with your local branch is created on the Git server upon your first push, the top bar of the Repository tree view will indicate the number of new commits not yet pushed to the associated remote branch. You can choose to push such commits to the Git server or abort such commits by reverting your local branch to the previous update state.

To revert your local branch to the previous update state, do the following:

Procedure

  1. Click the top bar of the Repository tree view, select More... from the drop-down menu and then select Reset from the sub-menu.
  2. If any editor window is open, you will see a warning message. Click OK to close the editor and proceed.

Results

Your local branch is now reverted to the previous update state.
