Talend Data Catalog application server requires the connection to an existing database server for metadata storage.
Backing up Talend Data Catalog on regular basis is important before upgrading or to recover from a data loss scenario or any other causes of data corruption or deletion.
- The objects from the backup are restored into the same database later.
- Always use the same database software version to perform the backup and restore. Backups created with a more recent version of the database server cannot be restored in earlier versions of the database server.
- Any data saved after a backup is done will be lost if you restore the backup.
