Talend Dictionary Service architecture

This architecture diagram identifies the functional blocks of Talend Dictionary Service, and the interactions between them.

Three different blocks are defined:

  • The Clients block includes a Web browser.

From the Web browser, you can access Talend Dictionary Service server to add, remove or edit the semantic types used on data in the Talend Data Preparation and Talend Data Stewardship Web applications.

  • The Servers block includes the Talend Dictionary Service server, the Talend Data Preparation server and the Talend Data Stewardship server.

This block also includes a Kafka server used for internal messaging between Talend Dictionary Service, Talend Data Preparation and Talend Data Stewardship.

The Talend Identity and Access Management Service is used to enable Single Sign-On.

Talend Administration Center allows administrators to manage licenses, users and roles. Assigning one or more of the predefined roles to users grants them specific rights to what can they access or perform in Talend Dictionary Service. For further information, see Talend Administration Center User Guide.

  • The Databases block includes the MongoDB database used to store all your semantic types used to validate your data in the application.
