You can export master data records pertaining to an entity from the Talend MDM Server to a local JSON file. This enables you to work on a local copy of master data records, do mass update on a group of master data records, then import them onto the Talend MDM Server again.

About this task

The following example shows how to export master data records pertains to the entity Product.

Procedure

  1. Perform a search with a specified criteria to narrow down the listed data records by following Searching for master data records in an entity if needed.
  2. Select the check box next to each data record you want to export.

    An EXPORT RECORDS button is displayed next to the views drop-down list.

  3. Click EXPORT RECORDS.
    A JSON file will be saved in your local machine. The two exported data records in the file contain only the fields you have defined in the corresponding view in Talend Studio.

What to do next

You can now do necessary modifications on the exported data records and then import them onto the Talend MDM Server.
