A patch is a software update that fixes bugs. You are granted access to the patch by Talend Support and you can download and apply it either via Talend Administration Center or manually.

The processes for applying the patch are different for Talend Studio/Talend CommandLine patches and other types of patch (such as ESB patches).

Due to technical limitations, you cannot uninstall a patch. For this reason, Talend recommends to follow the best practices described below to test the patch first before applying the patch to production. These instructions should be read as general guidance. For specific patches instructions, please carefully read the patch and release notes.

Warning:
  • All Talend Studio clients connected to the same project must install the same patch. Updating a Studio connected to a project requires all the Studios connected to that project to be updated.
  • If you have enabled the shared mode for Talend Studio, you need to first disable the shared mode before applying any patch to Talend Studio. For more information, see Enabling the shared mode for Talend Studio.
