To create a connection to an FTP server, follow the steps below:

Expand the Metadata node in the Repository tree view.
Right-click FTP and select Create FTP from the context menu.
The connection wizard opens:
Enter the generic schema information such as its Name and Description.

Note:
The status field is a customized field which can be defined in the Preferences dialog box (Window > Preferences). For further information about setting preferences, see Setting Talend Studio preferences.
When you have finished, click Next to enter the FTP server connection information.
