You can associate an editor of your choice for the JRXML files to be able to open the listed templates in the reporting tool and edit them.

Before you begin

  • You have selected the Profiling perspective.
  • You have downloaded a reporting tool.
Important: Download a reporting tool version compatible with the version of the data quality Studio you are using. For further information on compatible versions, see Using JRXML templates in Talend Studio.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click Window > Preferences.
  2. Expand General > Editors and select File Associations.
  3. To define the file type you want to add, click Add....
    The Add File Type dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the File type field, enter .JRXML.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Add... next to the Associated editors area.
  7. Select the External programs option.
  8. To select the reporting tool you have downloaded, do one the following methods:
    • Select the editor for the JRXML file type on the list.
    • Click Browse... and browse to the reporting tool.
    The reporting tool is displayed in the External programs list.
  9. Click OK.
    The selected editor is displayed in the Associated editors list.
  10. To close the Preferences window, click OK in the File Associations view.
  11. In the DQ Repository tree view, expand Libraries > JRXML Template.
  12. Double-click one of the listed templates.
    The template opens directly in the reporting tool.
  13. Edit the template and save it.
    The template is updated in the Studio.
