Hiding data automatically using a data class

You can assign a data class with a sensitivity label configured to mask data.

Before you begin

  • You have been assigned an object role with the Data Classification Editing capability.
  • An administrator has configured a data class with a sensitivity label to hide data. For more information, see Configuring a data class to hide data.

Procedure

  1. Open the object page of a field or column.
  2. In the Data Classifications area, select a data class from the drop-down list.
Talend Data Catalog can automatically suggest a data class. If the suggestion is correct, click the tick to approve it.
  3. Click the Commit changes button to save your modification.

Results

When the data class is approved, the sensitivity label is automatically approved and applied too.

Profile and sample data is hidden for this object and from unauthorized users.
