Installing and configuring an artifact repository for sharing external modules and software updates

Talend Administration Center uses an artifact repository to store software updates and ESB and Data Integration Job artifacts. This artifact repository can be based on Sonatype Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.

The artifact repository is used for the Software Update feature and its instance holds the talend-updates repository where the updates are retrieved by the user.

It can also be used as a catalog for the Jobs, Services, Routes, and Generic OSGi Features created from Talend Studio or any other Java IDE. For this, two repositories are available: repo-snapshot for development purposes and repo-release for production purposes.

When unzipping Talend Administration Center zip file, you will find two archive files:

  • Artifact-Repository-Nexus-VA.B.C.D.E containing scripts to configure Nexus. This folder does not contain Nexus installation files.
  • Artifact-Repository-Artifactory containing Talend scripts to initialize the Artifactory repository.

To set up the artifact repository, you must first install Nexus or Artifactory, and then configure it by using the provided scripts or manually.

For more information on how to configure Talend Artifact Repository in Talend Runtime, see Configuring Talend Artifact Repository in Talend Runtime.

For more information on Talend Artifact Repository supported versions, see Compatible artifact repository versions.
