Performing a Custom installation with Talend Installer

Before you begin

  • Make sure you complete the prerequisites listed in Talend Installer prerequisites.
  • Ensure that the dist file is in the same directory as the Talend Installer file. Depending on your license, this file is called either Talend-Tools-Installer-YYYYYYYY_YYYY-VA.B.C-linux-x64-installer.run or Talend-Installer-YYYYYYYY_YYYY-VA.B.C-linux-x64-installer.run.

Procedure

  1. Run the installer.
    • To run the Talend Installer from the desktop, first log in as superuser then make the Talend Installer file an executable file and double-click it.
    • To run the Talend Installer from the command line, first make the Talend Installer file an executable file, then run it. To do this, enter the following command:
      chmod +x <Talend-Installer>.run
      ./<Talend-Installer>.run
  2. Accept the License Agreement.
  3. Choose the directory where you want your Talend product to be installed.
  4. Choose Custom in the installation mode list.
  5. Add your license file.
  6. Follow the different configuration steps.
  7. Launch the installation.
  8. Once the installation is complete, you can remove the dist file to save space on your disk.

Results

Talend Installer creates a usedports.txt file where all the ports used by Talend Server modules are listed.

Filebeat is automatically installed with Talend LogServer.

If you installed Talend ESB with an external Tomcat or without installing Talend Identity and Access Management, and if you want to use the Syncope login feature, you must configure it to use the right port value. For more information, see Installing Syncope and configuring the ESB Syncope login module.
