Labels, Infos and other descriptive data

Availability-noteDeprecated
This section describes the various types of descriptive data.

All of the following data can be specified in multiple languages.

  • Primary Key Info

This is set at the entity level. It displays data from one or more elements in the entity in Web UI instead of the entity name.

It is particularly useful with the Navigator view.

  • Foreign Key Info

This displays one or more fields from the related entity instead of the technical key to help a user understand a relationship.

When many fields are required to be displayed or when there are a lot of relationships, it can be helpful to show the foreign keys in a separate tab. The option is to Render in the main tab, True or False.

  • Description

This is a tooltip denoted by a blue circle containing an 'i'.

  • Label

This is a steward-friendly label for an element.

  • Facet message

This is displayed when the data entered by a user does not comply with the type or facet rules. It was discussed earlier in this article.

  • Display format

This is used to set the display format for numbers, dates, etc.
