Pictures, documents and URL type

Availability-noteDeprecated
This sections defines some best practices when using pictures, documents and the URL type.

While it is possible to use the 'PICTURE' type to allow the upload to the Talend MDM server of images as part of a master data record, this is not good practice and images should not be considered to be master data.

It is better to store images and any type of file related to an MDM record in a proper content management system (CMS). This will provide facilities such as security controls, version control, storage, etc. You would then store a link to the CMS document in Talend MDM. The link can be considered as master data. You can do this by using the URL type.
