Talend Studio allows you to switch between branches of a project without the need of restarting your Studio.
Note:
- Close all open editors in the design workspace before trying to switch to another branch or tag. If not, a warning message will display prompting you to close all open editors.
- When you switch to a local branch and changes are found on the associated remote branch, those changes are automatically synchronized to the local branch.
The switch operation may take some time. Wait until the operation is finalized. Then, the Repository tree view switches to show the project items of the selected branch. You can read the directory of the active branch on the top bar of the Repository view.
Procedure
-
If you are currently on a local branch and you have changes not yet pushed to the
associated remote branch, push them first.
For more information, see Pushing changes on a local branch to the remote end.
- Click the top bar of the Repository tree view to open a drop-down menu.
-
Select the target branch or tag from the drop-down menu, and then select
switch from the sub-menu.
There are at most ten remote branches displayed in the drop-down menu. If the target branch or tag is not in the drop-down menu, click > Click for more remote branches ... and in the Remote branches dialog box displayed, select it and click Switch.
