About this task

As soon as you have created a Routelet, you will find it in your usual Palette of components and thus you will be able to include it within your Job.

Routelets in the Palette.

Procedure

  1. Like any other component, click the relevant Routelet name in the Palette and drop it to the design workspace to include it in your Route. Note that the Routelet can not be connected to other components.
    Route "VM 0.10" in Talend Studio.
  2. Define all other components properties and context variables, if required, before running the Route.
    In Basic settings view of the Component tab, configure the following options:
    Option Usage
    Use Selected Routelet Context Select this option to use the Routelet context that is selected in the Context list.
    Use Route Context Name

    Select this option to use the Routelet context with the name of current Route context.

    Use Routelet Context Select this option to use the current Routelet context.
    Routelet The name of the Routelet is shown in this field.
    Version Select the version of the Routelet if more than one version of the Routelet is available.
    Context Select from the list the Routelet context to use when executing the Route.
    Warning: This option works only when Use Selected Routelet Context is selected.
    Overwrite Contexts Use this table to change the variable values of the specified context in the Routelet.

    Click [+] to add as many rows as required to the table. Select the context variable that you want to change in the Parameters list of each row, and enter the value you want to give it in the Values field. This value will replace the one that is defined on the Routelet side.

  3. Save and run your Route as usual.
