Talend Cloud Data Catalog provides watcher capabilities for model level objects allowing you to effectively subscribe to objects and be notified of changes.
You can see the Watcher icon on the top right side of the object page.
You can see the count of watchers on an object.
To be notified when a change occurs to a model level object for which you are a watcher:
- Administrators have enabled the notifications for watchers from the Manage Email page.
- You have a valid email address.
- You have configured the notification frequency from the User Profile page.
- You have been assigned an object role with the Watcher Editing capability.

Start watching an object
- Go to the object page.
- Click the Watcher icon on the top right side.
- Click Start watching.
Stop watching an object
- Go to the object page.
- Click the Watcher icon on the top right side.
- Click Stop watching.
Adding a watcher to a model
You have been assigned an object role with the Watcher Management capability.
- Go to the object page.
- Click the Watcher icon on the top right side.
- Click Edit watchers.
- Select one or more user or group of users from the list.
- Click Start watching.
Removing a watcher from a model
You have been assigned an object role with the Watcher Management capability.
- Go to the object page.
- Click the Watcher icon on the top right side.
- Click Edit watchers.
- Remvoe the user or group of users from the Selected Watchers list.
- Click OK.
