About this task

You can use a URL containing the latest monthly update or a specific monthly update you want to apply to Talend Studio. To test an update before applying it to one or more Talend Studio instances, follow the best practices.

Procedure

  1. In Talend Studio, click Window > Preferences.
  2. Expand the Talend menu.
  3. Click Update settings.
  4. If you have installed the 8.0 R2022-05 Studio monthly update or a later one provided by Talend, and if there is a Use local update settings check box displayed, select the check box to show the Update URL field.
  5. Under Update URL, enter the update URL:
    • The URL containing the latest update of Talend Studio. For example: https://update.talend.com/Studio/8/updates/latest

      Talend Studio will automatically check for new monthly updates at start up.

    • A custom URL containing a specific monthly update and following the pattern https://update.talend.com/Studio/8/updates/RYYYY-MM[vV], where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, and V (optional) is the version number of the update. For example: https://update.talend.com/Studio/8/updates/R2021-11v1.

Results

Talend Studio will prompt you to install the updates you required. If new features are required for your project, Talend Studio will notify you of the necessary upgrade and will automatically install the features.
