This scenario renames a file on the FTP server via tFTPRename. Before the renaming, the file on the FTP server is shown below:

Linking the components

  1. Drop tFTPConnection and tFTPRename from the Palette onto the design workspace.

  2. Link tFTPConnection to tFTPRename using the OnSubjobOk trigger.

Configuring the components

  1. Double-click tFTPConnection to open its Basic settings view.

  2. In the Host and Port fields, enter the connection details.

  3. In the Username and Password fields, enter the authentication details.

  4. Double-click tFTPRename to open its Basic settings view.

  5. Select the Use an existing connection check box and then select tFTPConnection_1 from the Component List.

  6. In the Remote directory field, enter the directory on the FTP server where the file exists. Clear the Move to the current directory check box.

  7. In the Files table, click the [+] button to add a line.

  8. In the Filemask column, enter the existing file name.

  9. In the New name column, enter the new file name.

Executing the Job

  1. Press Ctrl+S to save the Job.

  2. Press F6 to run the Job.

  3. Go to the FTP client UI:

    As shown above, the file on the FTP server has been renamed from movies.json to action_movies.json.
