If you log into the web portal and choose to be a Bonita user, you can take or release a task available in the Tasks view.

Warning: The tasks available in the Tasks view depend on the roles of the login user.

To take a workflow task as a Bonita user, do the following:

Log into the Bonita BPM web portal page as the Web UI administrator, and choose User from the upper right corner.
Select the check box before the task you want to take.
Example
Click the TAKE button.
In the Comments area on the right, it shows that the task is now assigned to you.
On the left panel, select To do > My tasks. The task you just took will be listed there.

Note: On this page, you can select the task you do not want to take any more, and click RELEASE to release the task.

Meanwhile, if you select To do > Available tasks, the task you just took will disappear in the list of tasks.
