Before you begin

  • You have downloaded and installed Talend Studio from the Downloads page in Talend Cloud.

For the installation instructions, see Talend Cloud Installation Guide.

  • You have fetched your Talend Studio license from Talend Management Console.

For instructions, see Launching Talend Studio.

Procedure

  1. Start Talend Studio.
  2. Click Manage Connections to configure a new remote connection.
  3. Select a repository based on your region and requirements.
The Web-app URL is automatically updated according the repository selected.
For more information, see Talend Cloud regions and URLs.
  4. Enter the name of the connection in the Name field.
  5. If you have installed the 8.0 R2022-01 Talend Studio monthly update or a later one provided by Talend, enter your token in the Token field. Otherwise, enter your name and token in the corresponding User name and Token fields.
You can check your login name or generate a personal access token from your Profile Preferences in Talend Cloud. For more information, see Generating a Personal Access Token.
  6. Click the browse button next to the Workspace field and navigate to the folder to use.
You can also just enter the path to the folder.
  7. Click Check url then OK.
Note: If the repository of your remote project is not initialized in Git, an Initialize Git Repository dialog box pops up. Click Yes if you want Talend Studio to initialize the repository simply through adding a .gitignore file. Click No if you want to initialize the repository manually. When Talend Studio initializes the repository, by default, the master branch instead of the main branch is created.
  8. Select the Git project and branch to connect to.
  9. If you are connecting to the project for the first time, Talend Studio will ask for your Git credentials.
You can choose to store your credentials in Talend Studio for easier access.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Finish.

Results

The progress bar appears and the Talend Studio main window opens with your project.
