The following steps describe how to install and configure Talend Data Catalog using an external
database.
Procedure

Unzip the TDC-x.y-YYYYMMDD.zip file where you want
Talend Data Catalog to be
installed.
You should avoid using the
Program Files directories of
Windows 7, 8.x and 10 as they are now controlled by Windows with special access
rights.
Depending on your software installation directory, you may need
Administrator privileges.

In the software home directory, right-click the Setup.bat
file and click Run as administrator.
You can also run this setup utility with the Windows command line, by using
the start
or call
commands.

Click Yes to allow the application to make changes to
your device.
This setup utility allows you to setup the configuration parameters through
the Metadata Management (MM) Setup dialog box, which
displays on execution.

In the Database Server tab, clear the Enable
Windows Service check box if selected then click the
Configure button.
You should only select this check box if using the embedded PostgreSQL
database.
- Optional:
In the Application Server tab, leave the fields as default
and click the Configure button.

Results
You are now ready to execute and initialize
Talend Data Catalog Application Server.
