  1. Backup your MongoDB, while it is still running, using the following command:

    mongodump -h <source_mongodb_host> -d <source_database> -u <source_mongodb_user> -p <source_mongodb_passwd> -o <dump_output>

For more information, see the MongoDB documentation.

  2. Stop your instances of Talend Data Preparation 1.X and MongoDB.
  3. Backup your Talend Data Preparation 1.X installation folder.
  4. Install Talend Data Preparation 2.0 and configure it with the same settings as your 1.X instance, especially the links to your Talend Administration Center and MongoDB.

It is not possible to have two instances of MongoDB on the same machine.

For more information about the installation and configuration procedures, see the Talend Installation Guide.

  5. To retrieve the content of the dataset storage folder used for Talend Data Preparation 1.X, and migrate it to version 2.0, complete the next step according to the your situation:
    • If you have never modified the value of the dataset.content.store.file.location property, copy the content of the <Data_Preparation_Path>\data\store\datasets\content folder used in 1.X, and paste it in the 2.0 installation folder, following the same path.
    • If you have set a custom value for the dataset.content.store.file.location property, make sure that you set the same value in the application.properties file for the 2.0 version.
  6. Start Talend Data Preparation 2.0.

You are now ready to use Talend Data Preparation 2.0, and you can uninstall Talend Data Preparation 1.X.
