If you use Talend Dictionary Service with Talend Data Preparation 2.0 to create custom semantic types, they will be stored by default in a tmp directory.

To avoid losing your changes, it is recommended to change the save location of your custom semantic types.

  1. Open the <Data_Preparation_Path>/config/ file.
  2. Change the value of the dataquality.indexes.file.location property from ${}/org.talend.dataquality.semantic to <other_location>/org.talend.dataquality.semantic.

You can set a path to the location of your choice, as long as it is not in a tmp folder.

  3. Restart your Talend Data Preparation instance.

Your custom semantic types are now saved in a safer place. This issue will be fixed in Talend Data Preparation 2.1. For more information, see
