Before you begin
It is recommended to remove unnecessary blank spaces from the text records and to make sure the cells have the same length before proceeding.
- Select a column from which you want to extract some text.
- In the Functions panel, type Extract a value by index and click the result to display the options of the associated function.
Choose the text you want to extract using the options.
Index represents a number of characters from which or to which the selection applies.
- Click the Submit button to extract the selection you made to a new column.
