When selecting one or several of your terms, several actions are available to edit them.

The table below describes the different actions that you can perform on your terms.
Note: Some actions can be performed depending on your assigned security roles and, if the glossary has a workflow.
Icon Action Description
Trace semantic definition This button opens a dialog box where you can discover the meanings of the term.

Trace semantic usage This button opens a page where you can see the usage of the term in the architecture.

Open in Metadata Manager This button opens your metadata element in Metadata Manager.
Show related business reports This button opens a dialog box where you can see the list of the reports related to the selected term.

For more information, see Showing a business report.

Move to a different category Select the new target parent category where you want to move your metadata element.
Edit

You can modify the properties of your metadata element, such as Definition, Steward(s) and Label(s).

Select a property, choose an action and, if necessary, enter a value.

You can also add a comment describing your changes and visualize it in the audit log.

Delete A confirmation dialog opens before deleting the term(s).
More actions This button opens a menu where you can choose more actions for your terms.

Export glossary objects

Export glossary relationships

You can download glossary objects or relationships, as a CSV file.
Workflow actions When working with a glossary workflow and depending on the workflow status of the term, a user with appropriate permissions can apply workflow actions, such as Send to Draft, Start Review, Submit for Approval, Approve, Reject, or Mark for Deprecation.
Search text In the Search text bar, enter the first letters of your term you want to edit and click the Apply filter button.
Show filter popup This button opens a dialog box where you can add or edit filter elements.
Preferences This button opens a menu where you can manage and sort the list of your terms.
Display summary Visualize the name and the description of your terms.
Display grid Edit any property of your terms directly in the row.
Toggle selection mode Select multiple terms to edit them at once.
Download as CSV You can download the list of your terms, as a CSV file.
Add new term This button opens a menu where you can choose the two actions described below.
Add term Enter the name and the description of your new term.
Add term reference This button opens a dialog box where you can select an existing term or a new one as a term reference, create a category, or create a term.
