Instead of navigating through the different types of metadata, you can save time and use the SEARCH feature to search for any metadata element, and open it directly.

Procedure

  1. In the banner, click SEARCH.
  2. Click (Change) to display and use the advanced search criteria, if necessary.
  3. Enter any text in the search bar.
  4. Click the Search button.
In the search results, the page presents one or more result panels with information about metadata elements. Each result panel represents a particular type of metadata.

For example, you search for a term containing the word "account" in a glossary.

In the search results, a Terms panel presents a list of metadata elements, where the text that matches your search is highlighted.

The information following the from item presents the context of the metadata element, that allows you to identify to which type the element belongs to.

In the last row, the Finance Account term belongs to the Enterprise Conceptual Model category of the Enterprise Glossary glossary.

You can click Show all to display a metadata list with all the results related to that type. In this example, you have a list of 24 terms that match your search.
