Another option available for projects stored on SVN or Git is Custom log. This option requires the users to log meta-information about all the changes made on any item of the relevant project stored in SVN or Git mode. The user log can be set by the Administrator from the Talend Administration Center web application. For more information, see the section about adding a project in the web application User Guide.
When the Custom log check box is selected in the web application, this option will impact your use of the data quality Projects you create in Talend Studio as you will then get prompted each and every time you take an action on any item belonging to the created Project.
In the [Commit changes on server] window:
Type in the comment you want in the text box.
(SVN only) In the Revision properties tab, click the [+] button to add any Revision_property and the corresponding value, if needed. It can be for example, the author name and the bug ID.
Click Finish when you complete the form. Or click Cancel if you want to postpone the log commit to a later stage.
The log prompt will append all changes that you have not committed to SVN or Git yet. So you can choose to log information after several actions, rather than on every action.
For more information on managing projects stored on SVN or Git and setting the commit log pattern, see Talend Administration Center User Guide.
