Glossary terms move through different states and statuses that are related to their stage of development. Workflow statuses and states are visible in the term's properties.

In the development version of the glossary, your terms can be in one of these workflow states: New, Published or Deprecated. The term state varies depending on its status.

The table below describes the different workflow statuses that you can apply to your terms in the development glossary.

Workflow status Description
Candidate The term has been proposed by a user without the Editor workflow role.

Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can delete or send to draft the term.

Draft The term has been added by a user with the Editor workflow role or a candidate term has been sent to draft.
Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can apply the following actions to the term:
  • Delete,
  • Discard,
  • Mark for deprecation,
  • Start review,
  • Submit for approval.
Under Review The term is waiting to be reviewed.
Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can apply the following actions to the term:
  • Send to draft,
  • Request change,
  • Recommend approval,
  • Submit for approval.
Pending Approval The term is waiting to be approved.

Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can send to draft, approve or reject the term.

Approved The term is approved.

Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can publish or reject the term.

Published The term is published.

Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can send back to draft the term.

Deprecated The term is published as deprecated in the development version of your glossary.

Depending on the configuration of your glossary workflow, you can delete the term.
