The Custom installation is the more customizable installation method with Talend Installer. It allows you to choose what to install, where and how. This way, you can fully customize your installation and choose, for example, to install Talend Administration Center on a machine and Talend Studio on another.

To perform a Custom installation, proceed as follows:
Make sure you have downloaded all the required files as described in Talend Installer specific prerequisites.
Make sure all the default ports are opened. For more informations, see Port information.
Make sure the dist file is in the same folder as the Talend-Installer-YYYYYYYY_YYYY-VA.B.C-linux64-installer.run file.
Make the Talend Installer file executable with the following command:
chmod +x Talend-Installer-YYYYYYYY_YYYY-VA.B.C-linux64-installer.run
Launch Talend Installer with the following command:
./Talend-Installer-YYYYYYYY_YYYY-VA.B.C-linux64-installer.run
If you want to install Talend server modules as services and Subversion Repository, execute this command with the super-user rights.
Accept the License Agreement.
Choose the directory where you want your Talend product to be installed.
Choose Advanced Install in the installation style list and Custom in the installation type list.
Add your license file.
Follow the configuration steps.
Launch the installation.
Once the installation is complete, you can remove the dist file to save some space on your disk.
Talend Installer creates a usedports.txt file where all the ports used by Talend Server modules are listed.
