From Talend MDM Web UI, you can create one or multiple tables to cross reference master data.

Before you begin

The MDM server is already launched. You have been assigned a role with Read & Write access to the appropriate data container, data model and the cross referencing menu.
Note:

Make sure that you have selected:

  • the data container that holds the master data for which you want to create a cross-referencing table,
  • the data model against which the master data will be validated.

About this task

To create a cross-referencing table, complete the following:

Procedure

  1. On the Menu panel, click on Govern - Cross Referencing to open a new page.

    Example

  2. Click on New cross-referencing table to proceed to the next step.

    Example

  3. In the Table name field, enter a name for the cross-referencing table you want to create.
In the first field, enter a name for the first column in your table.
Click Add a field at the bottom of the page to add a second field to the page and then enter a name for the second column in your table.
Repeat the operation to add as many columns to the cross-referencing table as required.
Select the Key check box next to the column name you want to use as a key column.
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the page to save the table and proceed to the next step.
A table including all the defined columns will be displayed.

    Example

  5. The cross-reference table is now ready to be populated with data:
Click Add row to populate the table with as many rows as needed.

    Example

  6. Enter required data in the corresponding columns and click on Save to save your changes.
    A confirmation message pops up.
  7. Click OK to close the message.
The populated table is saved and added to the list of existing cross-reference tables.
Note: You can populate the table with data from a .csv or an .xls file if you use the Upload data file option. For further information, see the following section.
