Before you begin
It is recommended to remove unnecessary blank spaces from the text records and to make sure the cells have the same length before proceeding.
- Select a column from which you want to extract some text.
- In the Functions panel, type Extract Parts of the Text and click the result to display the options of the associated function.
Choose the text you want to extract using the options.
Index represents a number of characters from which or to which the selection applies.
- Click the Submit button to extract the selection you made to a new column.
The text corresponding to the selection you made is extracted to a new column.
