Before you begin:
You have downloaded Talend Data Preparation 2.0.
Stop your instances of Talend Data Preparation 1.X and MongoDB.
Backup your Talend Data Preparation 1.X installation folder.
Install Talend Data Preparation 2.0 with an external MongoDB and configure the
<Data_Preparation_Path>/config/application.propertiesfor 2.0 with the following settings for MongoDB:
These are the default values for the MongoDB properties. If you have made any change to these properties when using Talend Data Preparation 1.X, reapply the same changes to the 2.0 version of the
It is not possible to have two instances of MongoDB on the same machine.

To retrieve the content of the dataset storage folder used for Talend Data Preparation 1.X, and migrate it to version 2.0, complete the next step according to the your situation:
If you have never modified the value of the
dataset.content.store.file.locationproperty, copy the content of the
<Data_Preparation_Path>\data\store\datasets\contentfolder used in 1.X, and paste it in the 2.0 installation folder, following the same path.
If you have set a custom value for the
dataset.content.store.file.locationproperty, make sure that you set the same value in the
application.propertiesfile for the 2.0 version.
Start Talend Data Preparation 2.0.
You are now ready to use Talend Data Preparation 2.0, but do not uninstall Talend Data Preparation 1.X because it would delete the folder containing MongoDB.
