How to customize the display colors of read-only attributes

This article introduces how to customize the colors of read-only attributes in Talend MDM Web UI for all users, and, if you are an authorized user, the colors of read-only attributes for a specific user, according to your preference.

From the Talend MDM Web UI, you can search and open a generated view of master data records or staging data records pertaining to a specific entity in a specific data container.

When you open a data record, by default, read-only attributes are displayed in gray, while writable attributes are displayed in white.

Tip:

In styling settings, you can use any of the following methods to set a color:

  • a hexadecimal value, for example, #f3f3f3
  • an RGB value, for example, RGB (255,160,122)
  • a valid color name, for example, purple

This article is applicable if you are using a subscription based Talend MDM solution, version 6.1.1 or later.

Customizing the display colors of read-only attributes for all users

This procedure shows how to customize the colors in which the read-only attributes are displayed for all users.

Procedure

  1. Go to the directory <TomcatPath>/webapps/talendmdm/secure/css, where TomcatPath is the Tomcat installation directory.
  2. Open the file mdm.css and modify the following properties as required.

    The following styling example sets the text color of read-only attributes to yellow and the background color to blue:

    .x-item-disabled .x-form-text {
        color: yellow !important;
    }

    .x-item-disabled .x-form-textarea {
        color: yellow !important;
    }

    .x-item-disabled .x-form-field {
        background-color: blue;
    }

    In this example, the x-form-textarea settings take effect on read-only attributes populated with multiple lines of text.

  3. Save your changes.
  4. Clear the cache of your browser, and then open the Talend MDM Web UI to verify that the changes take effect.
