Creating an empty structure and its elements

Create a new structure and add elements manually.

Procedure

  1. In the Data Mapper tab, expand the Hierarchical Mapper node and right-click Structures.
  2. Click New > Structure.
  3. In the wizard that opens, select Create a new structure where you manually enter elements and click Next.
  4. Select a folder and enter a name for your structure, then click Next.
  5. Select a representation and click Next.
    Information noteNote: Every structure is automatically created with an XML representation.
  6. If you want to add a sample document, select the relevant option, otherwise leave the default option and click Finish.
    Your structure is now created, you can start adding elements.
  7. Right-click the section on the left of your workspace and click New Element to create a root element.
  8. Enter a name for your element, and edit its properties if needed.

  9. Right-click the root element and click New Element to add a new child element and name it.
    You can create as many elements as needed by right-clicking the element that you want to use as parent. You can drag and drop elements to move them in the structure, and you can also cut, copy and paste them.
  10. Press Ctrl + S to save your structure.
