Talend MDM architecture

Talend MDM groups all the company's master data in a central hub. This standardized repository provides, via the use of Data Models, the prerequisites against which data and updates are validated.

Talend MDM ensures the right people have the right tools to centrally model and manipulate master data. Its master data governance features are available through two different user interfaces: one is an administration tool called Talend Studio and the other is a web-based interface called Talend MDM Web UI.

The chart below illustrates the main building blocks of Talend MDM .

  • Talend Studio - where administrators can set up and operate a centralized master data repository. They can build data models that employ the necessary business and data rules to create a single master copy of the master data. This master data will be propagated back to target and source systems.

For more information, see Talend Studio User Guide.

  • Web browser - where business users can carry out manual interventions necessary to make sure that the master data is clean, consistent, and accurate.

  • MDM server - where the master and staging data is governed and monitored.

  • MDM database - where the master, staging and system data is stored.
