To build and maintain the metadata usage analytics capability, you will use an operation to generate usage analytics from the repository database, REST API activity, audit log information and the search indexes.

Before you begin

You have been assigned a global role with the Application Administration capability.

Procedure

  1. Go to MANAGE > Repository.
  2. Right-click the repository icon from the repository manager and select Operations > Export analytics (beta).
  3. Click Run operation.
    You may schedule this operation to generate the analytics daily, weekly or any frequency of your choice.
    The results are saved in CSV formats in the <TDC_HOME>/data/files/mm/analytics/ directory.
    These files may be analyzed by the BI tool of your choice, such as Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau.
    An example is provided in <TDC_HOME>/conf/Template/analytics/demo/demo.pbix for PowerBI. You may update the RootAnalyticsFolder parameter in the PowerBI example from inside the PowerBI tool.
  4. Once completed, click the gear icon.
  5. Click the operation line to open the log.
