New features

Feature Description
Multiple time triggers

You can now define multiple time triggers for each task or plan.

You can have a webhook or 15 triggers including the Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Cron types. Triggers must be separated by at least five minutes.

You cannot combine a webhook with other triggers. If you need both, you can copy the task or plan.

Note: When you edit the schedule of a single-triggered task/plan in the UI, this task/plan is converted to multi-triggered. Once done, you need to use GET /executables/tasks/{taskId}/schedule or GET /executables/plans/{planId}/schedule endpoints to get task/plan schedule details.
The user experience has been updated accordingly in the following pages:
  • From the Tasks and plans page, you now see the trigger types for each task or plan in the Trigger column. By clicking the Triggers and plans icon, you can also see information about the schedule such as the next run or click Show all triggers to see all triggers in the Task or Plan details page.
  • From the Task or Plan details page, you now see all the triggers sorted by type in the Trigger box. You can also see information related to the selected engine and log level.
  • When adding or editing a task, you now configure the engine and execution settings from the new Engine step.
  • When adding or editing a task or plan, you now define triggers in a new dedicated form available from the Schedule step.
Error description displayed in the component Metrics
The new Error column is available from the Metrics tab in the Run overview page.
You can see the error description if an error occurs in a component during the Job execution and copy it for future investigation.

You can also sort the data based on this column to see the components with errors on top.

The Jobs have to be published or republished with Talend Studio 8.0.1 with the R2022-04 update or a later one delivered by Talend.

UI improvements: new faceted search
The user experience has been enhanced by replacing the left panel with the new faceted search at the top of the following pages:
  • Tasks and plans

You can access this page by clicking Tasks or Plans in the appropriate workspace from the Management tab.

  • Artifacts

You can access this page by clicking Artifacts in the appropriate workspace from the Management tab.

  • Connections

You can access this page by clicking Connections in the appropriate workspace from the Management tab.

  • Resources

You can access this page by clicking Resources in the appropriate workspace from the Management tab.

Talend Cloud Migration Platform upgrade

The Talend Cloud Migration Platform has been upgraded to 4.2.5.

This version focuses on improving the assessments processes:

  • On-premises platform assessment: Talend Administration Center tasks and plans using "File-type" triggers (not supported in Talend Cloud) are now reported.
  • Project analysis:
    • A new REST API enables to generate Excel spreadsheet with a summary of all the projects analysis metrics.
    • The current REST API to automate the project analysis has been improved. The new version allows to automate the project analysis from the user interface by selecting all or a subset of the projects defined on Talend Administration Center.
