Correcting an incorrect data quality rule

In the list of data quality rules from the Data quality rules tab, you may see the Incorrect rule label Incorrect rule label.

About this task

The label is displayed when a semantic type has been deleted or cannot be used for validation.

Information noteImportant: When a rule is incorrect, it impacts the dataset quality and the Talend Trust Score™.

Procedure

List of possible issues
Type of issue Mode Meaning Solution
missing Basic The semantic has been deleted. Select another semantic type or delete the row.
unavailable Basic The semantic type cannot be used for validation. Enable Use for validation in the settings of the semantic type or delete the row.
When Use for validation is enabled:
  1. Open the rule from the Data quality rules tab.
  2. Validate the rule configuration.
DELETED_TYPE__NAMEOFSEMANTICTYPE Advanced The semantic has been deleted. Select another semantic type or delete the row.
NON_COMPLETE_TYPE__NAMEOFSEMANTICTYPE Advanced The semantic type cannot be used for validation. Enable Use for validation in the settings of the semantic type or delete the row.
When Use for validation is enabled:
  1. Open the rule from the Data quality rules tab.
  2. Validate the rule configuration.
Use for validation toggle.

What to do next

If the rule applies to datasets, open them to verify their state.
