Creating a connection

Before you begin

If you are using a Remote Engine Gen2, an administrator has previously created the engine in Talend Management Console. See the Talend Remote Engine Gen2 Quick Start Guide for more information.

Procedure

  1. Click Connections > Add connection.
  2. In the panel that opens, give a name to your connection as well as a description if needed.
  3. Select your engine in the Engine list.
Information noteNote: If no Remote Engine Gen2 has been created or if it exists but appears as unavailable which means it is not up and running, you will not be able to select a Connection type in the list nor to save the new connection. The list of available connection types depends on the engine you have selected.
  4. Select the type of connection you want to create, an s3 connection for example.
  5. Fill in the connection information to access your connection, check it if needed and click either Validate or Add dataset.
Add a new connection dialog box opened.

Results

The new connection is added to the list on the Connections page and is ready to be used.
