Adding comments to task attributes

You can add comments on the attributes in data columns to start a discussion or explain the change you make. You can add comments whether attributes are in a write or read-only mode.

About this task

This procedure explains how to comment on a merging task before delegating it to another data steward because of change in schedule and fast approaching due dates.


  1. On the Tasks page, click the campaign which holds the tasks you want to delegate.
    If you are assigned the campaign owner and data steward roles, you can manage comments from the Tasks and Campaigns pages.
  2. Right-click any attribute of the master record and select Add a comment.
    Information noteNote: You can not add comments to source records in Merging and Grouping campaigns.
  3. Enter your comment in the open form and click the Validate icon.
    Your comment is attached to the selected attribute preceded by your username and the time stamp.
  4. Repeat the above steps to add new comments to the same attribute or other attributes in the data columns.
  5. Optionally, click in the upper right corner of the task attribute to open the Comments form and edit or delete your comment.
    You can edit or delete only the comments added by you. An edited comment will always have the initial time stamp but the edited label will display next to it.
