Metamodel object types
After defining the pool of attribute types, you need to create object types based on the reusable attribute types and define custom association or composition relationships between the objects.
You can create custom or imported object types.
When you save the changes after a deletion of an object type, Talend Data Catalog removes it entirely from the repository, including all instances in custom models.
Deleting an object type is only possible if all related objects are removed or edited to not relate on the object to be deleted. You can use the Show usage diagram feature to see its related objects.
Naming standards for object names
An object name should be a singular noun optionally preceded with an adjective and short as possible. It must be unique in the entire repository.
- become section headers and tab names in the object page for a custom model.
- become Object Type in worksheets.
