Manage

A fundamental feature of TDC is the ability to Harvest or import metadata from hundreds of different source tools, environments and formats. These may be databases, file systems, a data lake, data integration tools like ETL, business intelligence reporting environments, etc. Harvesting the metadata from these sources is a necessary step to constructing a complete picture of the existing information architecture. Along with stitching (configuration management) the result is an end-to-end understanding allowing for data flow impact and source lineage analysis.

Information note

One may create, harvest and analyze metadata (model contents) from the MANAGE > Repository tree . However, generally it is best to create a configuration to work in (and to define the scope of analysis and search) and then go to MANAGE > Configuration and create and harvest there.
