Changing the Current Configuration

When using the Talend Data Catalog UI, you will always be working with one configuration at a time. The configuration is an extremely important concept. It is the scope for many operations and analysis, including lineage, search, version management, etc. In this way, what would otherwise be an overload of information (everything in the repository including all historical and future versions of models, etc.) is instead well managed according to the configuration of metadata one is interested in analyzing or working with.

The configuration you are currently working in is displayed in the upper right in the header.

Steps

To change the configuration:

  1. Click the name of the current configuration.
  2. Select Change Configuration.
  3. Double-click the configuration you wish to be in or select one and click on OK.
Information note

In the multi-version editions of Talend Data Catalog , configurations can have a Published (or default) version. This is the version you are selecting above. If you wish to open a different version, click choose Version and select the specific version of the configuration you want to open.

Example

Click the configuration name in the header and select More.

Pick the Demo Enterprise Architecture configuration and go to MANAGE > Configuration.

Information note

If you have defined a home dashboard for that configuration, then you will be presented with that dashboard. Otherwise, you will see the MANAGE > Configuration screen.
