Connecting to a source

About this task

Procedure

  1. Choosing the source
The first action to perform when you start the parameter definition module is to connect to a source.

If several sources are available and the one you want is not the first one, go to the Source label and click on the source you want to connect to:

The name of the selected source is always displayed in the information bar opposite the label Source.

  2. Setting up the connection
Choose Connect from the Source menu, or click the icon either in the toolbar or in the Source column.

Once the connection is made (the status bar at the bottom of the main window shows the ongoing actions), the Connect icon is replaced by the list of environments displayed with the names and types.

In the above table, the DEV01 SQL Server source has different environments:
    Environment code Environment type
    BZ Production
    DD Production
    NU Training
    TL Test
