Compatible data sources to enable an API

The API functionality is only compatible with datasets created from specific connection types, databases types, and dataset types. Your dataset must fulfill these three conditions in order to enable an API.

Compatible connections

You can only enable an API for datasets created from a JDBC connection.

Compatible databases

When creating a JDBC connection, you can select various databases as source to create a dataset. You should be able to enable an API on any of them, but the ones tested and validated by Talend are the following:

  • MariaDB
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • Snowflake
Information noteNote: If you encounter any issue with a database type, contact your Talend support representative.

Compatible datasets types

After choosing a database type, you need to select how you want to retrieve the actual data to import in the form of a dataset. APIs can be enabled on dataset created via the following methods:

  • Table name
  • Query
Information noteNote: Table streams are not supported
