Task

  • In Talend Management Console: An artifact with a specific execution configuration created in a workspace. For example, Artifact-1 using Connection-1 executing on RemoteEngine-1. Properly named context variables indicate that an appropriate connection or resource must be specified during task configuration.
    • Job execution task: A Job execution task represents a set of actions that you can configure in Talend Administration Center in order to execute the Jobs designed in Talend Studio directly from Talend Administration Center.
    • ESB execution task: An ESB execution task represents a set of actions that you can configure in Talend Administration Center in order to start the Services, Routes, and data service Jobs designed in Talend Studio or to start generic OSGi features designed in your Java IDE, directly from Talend Administration Center.
  • In Talend Data Stewardship: A record or source on which is performed stewardship. It has a lifecycle where it passes through different states according to the workflow defined in the campaign. When the assignee performs actions on a task, it transitioned to the next step in the workflow until it reaches the resolved state. There are four task types: arbitration tasks, resolution tasks, merging tasks and grouping tasks.
