Provide a troubleshooting package with debug log. Debug log can be set in the UI or in conf/ with MIR_LOG_LEVEL=6

Data Model file Specify the Oracle BI Publisher data model to import with .XDMZ or .XDM extension.
The .XDMZ file is a zip archive and contains all related data model files (XDM, ...)

You can use the BI Publisher web UI to download such .XDMZ file, for example:
* connect with a web browser to URL like: http://hostname:9502/xmlpserver/
* navigate through the catalog folders and select a datamodel
* the UI offers a download action for the datamodel in XDMZ format

You can also use the BI Publisher catalog command line utility (BIPCatalogUtil) to download such .XDMZ file, for example:
* The BI Publisher catalog utility installation location depends on your version.
For version 11.x it may be in ORACLE_HOME/clients/bipublisher/BIPCatalogUtil/bin
For version 12.x it may be in ORACLE_HOME/clients/bip/bin
* You may need to edit the following XML configuration file with a text editor: config/xmlp-client-config.xml
Specify the URL to connect to the Publisher server, e.g. http://hostname:9502/xmlpserver/
Specify the username and password to connect
* start a command prompt window (CMD)
* run the BIPCatalogUtil command line utility with such parameters:
BIPCatalogUtil.cmd -export catalogpath=/path/TheDataModel.xdm target=/path/TheDataModel.xdmz extract=false

This file is stored in your Oracle BI Publisher installation directory at: /Admin/DataSource/datasources.xml
